Traveling has always been a regular part of my life. Growing up, my parents would ship my sister and I away to our grandparents in India for the summer. Or, they would stick us in the backseat of our Dodge minivan and subject us to brutally long road trips. I didn’t really appreciate how lucky I was to have had these experiences until many years later. As I got older, I went on amazing journeys that opened my eyes to just how fascinating the world is, and I craved more. To say that traveling is a passion of mine is an understatement – it has deeply shaped who I am today and how I look at the world. I enjoy learning about different cultures from the people I meet and I realized that I want that same enthusiasm and desire to learn to be evident in my career as well as my everyday life.
In the Summer of 2011, after acknowledging that I needed to take a risk in the pursuit of my own happiness, I left my comfortable life in NYC and started on a 3 month journey exploring different places in Europe, Japan and India. I came back to NYC bursting with new ideas and with an intensity and excitement that I hadn’t felt in quite some time. What followed was the important decision to get my MBA in Milan where I studied marketing and was continuously learning from my awesome international peers at SDA Bocconi. Now that I’m back stateside, when I’m not traveling I try to write about all the great things going on in my backyard.
